Meet the boss of Geordie Shore

A BUSINESSWOMAN has described what it’s like to be part of one of the most talked-about reality shows on TV.
Anna Parkin can currently be seen on MTV’s controversial series Geordie Shore kicking the housemates into touch and threatening them with eviction if they step out of line.
The show, which takes a look at the party lifestyle of eight lads and lasses in their late teens and 20s in Newcastle, is causing quite a stir.
Some critics say it is not a true reflection of true Geordie life and paints a bad name for the area.
But others can’t get enough of the antics of the cast – Jay, Holly, James, Sophie, Vicky, Charlotte, Greg and Gary – who can be seen getting drunk, getting into fights and getting naked.
As a condition of living in the plush house, in Newcastle’s luxurious Jesmond area, the housemates have to “work” and regularly attend champagne receptions and promotional events.
These are arranged by Anna, who lives off Durham Way, in Peterlee, and runs a business called Two Touch Promotions, which supplies promotional staff, models, brand ambassadors, VIP hospitality and corporate entertainment.
She was originally approached by MTV to help with the casting of the 18-26 year olds for the programme.
The 37-year-old said: “The eight housemates were chosen from thousands of applicants.
“As you can see they are all strong, young individuals with big personalities and each bring something different to the show.
“It’s certainly caused a stir!
“Like everyone I have spoken to, I am hooked.
“I can’t wait for the next episode.”
Anna didn’t realise at the time but MTV was actually casting her for the role as “the boss” on the show.
Although the main premise of the show is about the girls and guys living and partying together, MTV was keen for them to work at fun events in and around Newcastle which Two Touch Promotions could offer.
Ambitious Anna added: “I thoroughly enjoyed working with the cast of Geordie Shore.
“They weren’t the easiest bunch to tame, but once I got to know them and they realised I ran a professional company and had a certain image to maintain in front of my clients they were keen to impress.”
Anna said she relished her mother-hen role as she is “old enough to be some of their mothers so it was a natural role for me”.
She said she has had an amazing response since the show first aired.
Anna added: “I have been recognised in all scenarios from having afternoon cocktails with the girls to walking down the high street.
“We have had a fantastic response from all angles, everyone certainly wants to work for Anna ‘The Boss’.”
Geordie Shore is shown on MTV on Tuesdays at 10pm.
l MAIL readers are being given a chance to have a taste of the Geordie Shore lifestyle.
Two Touch Promotions is offering the chance to win a one-hour limousine ride for six people and a butler’s collar, cuffs, bow tie and apron uniform as worn by the guys on the show,
